I've just realized that my driver's license is expired. I had no idea until the bank teller I presented my license to a while ago pointed it out (I stopped myself from saying "Ha? Mao ba?!" for fear of being seen as tanga, but I was actually already crying on the inside). Another thing that's already expired is my passport, which I've been meaning to get renewed for the last 5 months. Ha ha. I hope I can both of them renewed before my OJT starts. For the meantime, I will have to be content with being a passenger... or traveling by boat.
But aside from news of my lack of attention for extremely important documents, I also received the most amazing news today! I haven't been wearing contact lenses for the last 6 weeks or so because of an eye inflammation due to, well, over-wearing contact lenses. You see (no pun intended), my left eye has gotten scarred, which is why its vision has gotten all blurry. The first doctor I went to told me that the only way to get perfect vision again was to get a corneal transplant, which left me depressed for quite a while. A corneal transplant just seems too... tragic.
Believing that another person's cornea was not the only way to get perfect vision again, my grandmother & I went to Dr. Yong Larrazabal III's clinic today (had to wait 3 hours before it was my turn because of the countless patients), and I finally got to see the scar on my eye. He then said that he could remove the scar AND improve my vision by getting it lasered (which got me excited), and asked me if I wanted to get the laser done right after the consultation (which got me even MORE excited)... but I couldn't get it done today since I have yet to undergo an eye screening, and I have to consume my new eye medications (which I now have a vast collection of) before I have the procedure.
I am, however, getting screened in 2 weeks, and I hope the days move faster because I cannot wait until the time comes when I can wake up in the morning without having to feel my bedside table for my glasses.
